Creation Spring 2026

Summary:

In a rat-infested suburb, residents, all night workers, gather after one of their children is bitten. The image of this child, a rat dangling from his bloody hand, floats in everyone's mind. What to do? A caregiver, a cleaning lady, a parking attendant, a party-loving night owl, and a rat specialist chaotically try to find a solution. But from the initial question—how to eradicate the rats that have invaded us—flows a collective reflection on the responsibility of power, their own invisibility in the eyes of those who decide, and on the rats themselves: who are really whose pests? From a neighborhood meeting to a stroll by residents ready to make themselves visible, Nuisibles proposes to embark the public on an act of collective power.

Who are the “pests”?

It's true that we say this about rats, which swarm at night, which move in groups, which are active when everyone is asleep, and which we hunt with poison and tracking.

But sometimes, also, of those who populate the city at night, and our streets, and our sewers, and our myths.

In the silence of the night, an entire people stirs, those who are silent, those who are not seen, who work silently in basements, parking lots, hotels, or sidewalks. Indispensable, and invisible. But at the turn of a gathering of these people of the night, they become visible. And therefore... harmful.

Harmful to whom?

Nuisibles is a neighborhood meeting followed by a nighttime stroll for five international actors, three (real) rats and an audience exploring the city.
